COVID-19 Information (Updated April 11th, 2023)

At this time we ask that you please do not visit the office if you or anyone in your household have any cold or flu-like symptoms or have been tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting results.

Please note, at this time we are unable to book appointments through our online booking system. To book your next appointment, please contact our office at (250) 562-1305 during regular business hours. As we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes, if you are
unable to reach us we ask that you please keep trying or email us at [email protected].

Masks are recommended but not mandatory in the main area of our office. However, masks are required in some exam rooms. In certain situations, you may be asked to wear a mask.

When you arrive at the office, you will find our door locked. Please knock and we will answer the door as quickly as possible. We kindly as that you please do not bring any food or drink with you.

This is our time to be kind, to be calm and to be safe!

Pre-appointment Screening: At the time of booking you will be given office protocol instructions. Telemedicine exams may also be used where possible as an adjunct to in-office visits.

Use of Vapour Barrier Shields: Vapour barrier shields have been installed at reception and dispensing desks and on other instruments where applicable.

COVID-19 Self Assessment: Please do not attend our clinic if you or a family member are ill or have any of the following:

Common Symptoms:

  • fever
  • cough
  • difficulty breathing

Other Symptoms:

  • aches and pains
  • nasal congestion
  • runny nose
  • sore throat
  • difficulty breathing

Nechako Optometry is committed to protecting the health and well-being of our patients and staff. We are following the guidelines from the BC Medical officer and the Canadian and British Columbia associations of Optometry, and we will update our protocol as needed.
